Enabling students to grab what they need...

So we teach our students. So we teach our students how to learn. So we teach our students how to teach themselves. And now we teach them how to use technology in order to help them teach themselves. My granddaughter uses Facebook all the time. She uses all the add-ons she needs to get the best out of using Facebook. She Texts, FaceTimes and Skype’s. She uses Flicker, iTunes and YouTube to help promote her digital profile (but she doesn’t know that’s what she is doing) to others.

When I ask what she uses to help her studies, she say’s Wikipedia. She is unfamiliar with ‘Social Bookmarking’, ‘Reference Support sites’ and ‘e-portfolio’s’ and has no interest in using them.

The goal then really is to make the learning the ‘Goal’. To get students to immerse themselves into their learning so that they find their own way and delve into the world of technology and take form it what they need. They do it with Facebook.
